Ingmar Lee is the primary field assistant, and also works as skipper, photographer and videographer. Ingmar is an environmental activist and writer, well-known for his role in direct action to protest environmental destruction at Cathedral Grove and around Spaet Mountain (a.k.a. “Bear Mountain”) on Vancouver Island. His website is www.ingmarlee.com.
Krista and Ingmar studied Culturally Modified Trees on the Brooks Peninsula, on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island in 2005 as part of their undergraduate studies, with members of the Quatsino First Nation. After graduating from the University of Victoria, they journeyed to India with their son Desmond, and lived in Pondicherry for a year and half while Krista completed a Master’s of Science degree on threatened elephant corridors in north western Tamil Nadu state. All 3 are now living with Bella the kittycat on their sailboat, a 35’ Spencer named “Klaskish”, around Denny Island near Bella Bella, B.C.
